ACP Veronica, CSP Mariam, ACP Oyinye, Uduak Bassey, Niyree Rwang Others Represent Nigeria at IAWP Global Women Police Conference in Bali

Nigerian female police officers have continued to project professionalism and growing leadership capacity of women in law enforcement as a delegation from the Nigeria Police Force participates in the 63rd Annual Training Conference of the International Association of Women Police, IAWP, holding in Bali, Indonesia.

The conference which runs from September 20 to 24, 2026, is being held under the theme Women Leading Global Change, bringing together policewomen and other law enforcement professionals from different parts of the world to exchange knowledge, share experiences and examine emerging trends in policing.

Among the Nigerian delegates are Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Ameh-Akpa Veronica and Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Mariam Busola Ogunmolasuyi, alongside other senior female officers.

Other members of the Nigerian delegation are ACP Omuamaegbu Oyinye, ACP Edet Uduak Bassey, ACP Niyree Rwang, CSP Lami Patrick, CSP Opeifa Omolola, SP Omeoga Princess Esther, SP Victoria David, ASP Musa Hyelakuri and Inspector Mercy Johnson.

Their participation provides an international platform for Nigerian officers to engage with counterparts at the global stage on contemporary approaches to law enforcement, leadership, innovation, and community engagement.

The IAWP conference is designed to promote professional development and strengthen synergy among women in law enforcement. Discussions at the gathering include technology driven policing, criminal investigative techniques and best standard practices in policing amongst others.

For the Nigerian delegation, the conference offers an opportunity to share experiences from Nigeria’s policing environment while gaining insights into approaches being adopted by law enforcement agencies in other countries.

The participation of the Nigerian delegates is also significant against backdrop of increasing roles being played by women in policing, both in investigation, operational responsibilities and enforcement of fundamental rights.

The presence of Nigerian female officers at the international training conference will further underscore contribution of women to development of technology driven policing.

Through their participation, Nigerian officers are expected to expand their professional networks, exchange practical experiences, and gain exposure to emerging ideas at global level.

The event also provides avenue for officers to demonstrate competence and commitment of Nigerian women in policing while contributing Nigerian perspectives to global discussions on future of law enforcement.

As the five-day conference continues in Bali, attention will remain focused on exchange of ideas, professional training, and collaboration among policewomen from different parts of the world.
