Emotional Reason Behind My Drawing Of Tinubu With His Late Mother – Minister Hannatu Musawa Opens Up
The Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has opened up on why she drew President Bola Tinubu together with his late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.
Musawa presented the handmade portrait to President Tinubu during a courtesy visit on October 4, 2026, shortly after the national premiere of the MKO Abiola documentary and the President’s return.
In a post explaining the visit, the minister said drawing is a personal hobby she enjoys, but this particular drawing meant more to her than others.
She revealed that the artwork was inspired by the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child, and also by the compassion President Tinubu showed her when she lost her own mother.
According to her, President Tinubu supported her and showed her kindness during that painful period, and the portrait was her way of saying thank you.
The minister said she remains deeply grateful to the President for his support during her time of grief.
She also offered prayers for President Tinubu, asking God to continue to give him wisdom, strength and direction as he pilots the affairs of Nigeria.
Musawa’s revelation has stirred emotional reactions online, with many Nigerians describing the portrait as thoughtful and symbolic.
President Tinubu’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, died in June 2013 at the age of 96. She was a well-respected trader and political mobilizer in Lagos.
