NIDCOM Responds To Auditor General Query On 2023 Spending, Submits Evidence To National Assembly

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM has responded to the audit query issued by the office of the Auditor General regarding its 2023 expenditure.

This was contained in a press statement released on September 22 2026 in Abuja by the Commission.

According to NIDCOM, the query has been comprehensively addressed and the response officially submitted to the office of the Auditor General and the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.

The Commission said any further enquiries concerning its 2023 audited report should be directed to the Auditor General’s office and the Public Accounts Committees which have oversight mandate.

NIDCOM stressed that all issues raised have been clarified with supporting documentary evidence.

It explained that a query is meant to be responded to and as a responsible government institution it has fulfilled that obligation.

The Commission added that an audit observation does not automatically translate to a finding of wrongdoing and it would be premature for any organisation to prejudge its response or reach conclusions without considering facts, records and explanations provided.

NIDCOM reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and due process in its operations.
