President Tinubu Hails NIDCOM Boss Abike Dabiri-Erewa On Her Birthday, Describes Her As Devoted Public Servant

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on the occasion of her birthday today.

In a congratulatory message released by the State House, President Tinubu described Dabiri-Erewa as a devoted public servant and a committed party faithful who has served the nation with passion and diligence.

The President recalled that Dabiri-Erewa started her career as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, before venturing into politics where she represented Ikorodu Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2015.

During her time in the National Assembly, she chaired the House Committee on Media and Publicity and also headed the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.

President Tinubu said Dabiri-Erewa has demonstrated love for the country and humanity over many years by consistently placing the welfare and well-being of the underprivileged at the centre of her work.

According to the President, the NIDCOM boss has brought passion, diligence and foresight to her work as a journalist, lawmaker and chief executive of NIDCOM, particularly in her historic roles in pursuing social justice for Nigerians at home and abroad.

The President also commended her patriotic role in attracting diaspora talents to contribute to national development, especially in the areas of education, health and sports, noting that she has justified the awards and recognition that have come her way.

Abike has demonstrated love for the country and humanity over many years by consistently placing the welfare and well-being of the underprivileged at the centre of her work, Tinubu said.

As you mark another special day, I pray for God’s blessings, wisdom and good health to carry on the good work you are championing, the President added.
