NDDC Pledges Improved Service Delivery to Niger Delta People at Customer Service Week

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, innovation and quality service delivery to stakeholders and communities in the Niger Delta region.

The Commission stated this during its Customer Service Week celebration held in Port Harcourt.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, said excellent customer service remains central to the Commission’s mandate of delivering responsive and people-oriented development in the region.

Abegunde assured stakeholders that NDDC is committed to delivering dividends of democracy to all parts of the Niger Delta. He said the commitment is visible in the projects executed by the Commission in the last three years under the leadership of the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku and the management team.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has provided a foundation for economic growth, national unity and inclusive development.

In her remarks, the Deputy Director, SERVICOM, Dr. Irene Okezie, said Customer Service Week is an opportunity to celebrate customer service professionals and recognize their role in building trust and strengthening relationships with stakeholders.

She commended frontline staff for their diligence, dedication, patience and commitment to assisting stakeholders even in difficult situations. She noted that NDDC as an organization is both a service giver and taker and must ensure compliance with due process.

According to her, the celebration is the first time the Commission is observing Customer Service Week and will serve as a stepping stone for better service delivery in the future.

Also speaking, the Deputy Director, SERVICOM, Abuja liaison office, Kikelomo Aina, urged staff to show empathy to vulnerable customers and be ready to assist those facing challenges.

She encouraged staff to go the extra mile and be available for service even outside official duties, describing customer satisfaction as a personal choice that brings fulfillment.

The programme consultant, Pastor Benson Eghaire, emphasized teamwork, perseverance and determination as key to efficiency. He advised staff to work as a unit and remain resilient and committed to their duties.

The event was organized to appreciate dedicated staff and stakeholders who support development efforts in the Niger Delta.
