EBUKA OBI-UCHENDU FEATURES ON GLO-SPONSORED AFRICAN VOICES CHANGEMAKERS

Celebrated Nigerian broadcaster and iconic host of Big Brother Naija, Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu, is the special guest on this week’s edition of African Voices Changemakers, the acclaimed magazine programme on Cable News Network International (CNN).
The 30-minute documentary-style programme, sponsored by telecommunications giant Globacom and anchored by celebrated journalist Larry Madowo, profiles Africans whose works are transforming the continent’s creative, cultural, and socio-economic spaces. Ebuka’s appearance delivers an engaging and insightful exploration of his evolution from a reality TV contestant to one of Africa’s most recognisable and influential media personalities.
Born on 14 July 1982, Ebuka first came to public attention during the inaugural season of Big Brother Naija in 2006. Though he did not win, his articulate presence and charismatic persona endeared him to viewers nationwide, launching him into a distinguished media career.
Ebuka’s academic credentials reinforce his reputation for excellence. He holds a Law degree from the University of Abuja, and a Master’s in Law specialising in Intellectual Property from the Washington College of Law at American University, Washington D.C.
Beyond his television accomplishments, Ebuka has become a continental fashion reference point. His innovative collaborations with acclaimed designer Mai Atafo, known for their cultural symbolism and stylistic boldness, have inspired a new wave of African menswear expression. He is equally passionate about youth advocacy, regularly championing issues that influence the personal development and social identity of young African men. These themes receive significant attention in the forthcoming broadcast.
The show which runs on Saturday on DSTV Channel 401 at 8:30 a.m. and 12.00 noon is repeated on Sunday at 4.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The repeats continue on Monday at 4 on the morning belt and at 6.45 p.m. the same day and at 6.45 p.m. on Tuesday.
