HerFidelity Partners With Foremost Radiology to Promote Early Breast Cancer Detection in Nigeria

As Nigeria joins the global community to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fidelity Bank Plc through its women-focused proposition, HerFidelity, has partnered with Foremost Radiology to drive awareness on early breast cancer detection.

The partnership is focused on educating women on how to identify early warning signs, seek professional medical advice, and take prompt action when unusual changes are observed in the breast.

According to health experts, breast cancer symptoms may include a lump or thickening in the breast, changes in breast size or shape, skin changes, nipple changes, or unusual nipple discharge. In some cases, these changes may occur without pain.

Medical professionals note that while such symptoms do not always indicate cancer, any unusual change should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare provider without delay. Early diagnosis and timely access to treatment remain key factors in improving breast cancer outcomes.

The initiative is being implemented under HerFidelity, Fidelity Bank’s proposition dedicated to supporting women through finance, business education, capacity building, entrepreneurship support, and health and wellness programs.

HerFidelity was created to address the broader needs of women beyond access to capital. The proposition is built on the understanding that sustainable economic empowerment requires access to funding, relevant knowledge, mentorship, and good health.

As part of its health and wellness pillar, HerFidelity is collaborating with Foremost Radiology to increase awareness and encourage women to prioritize their breast health.

A key activity under the campaign is a webinar titled Beyond the Lump, The Role of Awareness and Imaging in Early Breast Cancer Detection.

The webinar is scheduled to hold on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. West African Time, and will feature Dr. Alabi, a Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist, who will speak on breast cancer awareness, warning signs, medical imaging, and the importance of early medical evaluation.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical guidance on breast health management.

Beyond the webinar, the campaign will include a physical outreach. HerFidelity is set to conduct a breast health screening and awareness outreach at Oyingbo Market in Lagos on October 25, 2026.

The outreach is aimed at taking breast health information directly to women in busy commercial communities, meeting them where they live, work, and do business, and reinforcing the need for regular checks and professional medical consultation.

The campaign is anchored on the message Know, Check, Act. According to the organizers, the goal is to promote awareness without creating fear, while encouraging women to understand their bodies and seek timely medical advice when necessary.

Through HerFidelity, Fidelity Bank continues to link women’s health with financial and entrepreneurial growth, offering funding opportunities, business education, mentorship, networking, and wellness support to help women build sustainable businesses and contribute to their communities.
