Glo Staff Celebrate 23rd Anniversary with Glo Fitfest 2026 Sports Fiesta in Lagos

Globacom employees came together on Saturday to celebrate the telecom company’s 23rd anniversary in style with a sporting event tagged Glo Fitfest 2026.

The event was held at The Stable in Surulere, Lagos, and featured a day of games, bonding, and healthy competition among staff from different departments.

Glo Fitfest 2026 Brings Staff Together

Organized to mark more than two decades of Globacom’s growth, Glo Fitfest 2026 gave employees a chance to unwind and connect outside of work.

Staff members turned out in colorful custom T-shirts and participated in several games including table tennis, Big Ludo, Big Snooker, Beer Pong, Sack Race, Big Ayo, and a football tournament. Departments were grouped into clusters to boost team spirit during the friendly competitions.

Glo Rockets Win Football Final

Football was the highlight of the day and drew the biggest crowd. Teams battled hard for bragging rights, with some departments even flying in colleagues from outside Lagos to strengthen their squads.

In the final match, Glo Rockets made up of staff from the Sales Force and Value-Added Services Department defeated Strikers FC. Strikers FC represented Rollout, Information Systems, Gloworld Development, and E-Pin departments.

For winning, the Glo Rockets went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of N1 million. The runners-up received N750,000. Players from both teams were also awarded medals. Winners in other sporting categories received medals and cash prizes.

More Than Just Games

Beyond the competition, Glo Fitfest 2026 featured music, dancing, laughter, and camaraderie. The event was aimed at rewarding sporting excellence while strengthening relationships among staff as Globacom enters its 24th year of operations.

The celebration left employees energized and with a stronger sense of belonging within the company.
