Nigerian Institute of Management Confers Fellowship on NDDC Managing Director Ogbuku

LAGOS, August 21, 2026 — The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has been conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the institute’s highest grade of professional membership.

The award was presented during the institute’s 2026 Fellows’ Investiture, Award and Spouses’ Day ceremony in Lagos, held as part of activities marking the institute’s 65th anniversary.

According to the institute, the fellowship recognises Dr Ogbuku’s leadership, professional excellence and contributions to national development.

Receiving the honour, Dr Ogbuku described it as a call to higher responsibility.
“I receive this distinguished recognition with deep gratitude and humility. Beyond the honour itself, I see it as a call to greater responsibility, higher professional standards and deeper service to humanity,” he said.

He added that the recognition would strengthen his commitment to applying his knowledge and experience to support institutions and initiatives that promote sustainable development.
“As I embrace this new professional responsibility, I remain committed to giving my time, expertise, and resources towards serving the people of the Niger Delta and contributing meaningfully to humanity,” he stated.

Several directors of the NDDC were also recognised with awards at the ceremony for excellence in service delivery.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, was among other distinguished Nigerians honoured at the event.

The Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Management, FNIM, is awarded to professionals adjudged to have made significant contributions to the practice of management and to national development.
