Adaora Umeoji Led Zenith Bank Unveils Banking On Her Tomorrow to Inspire Next Generation of Girls

In a bold move to empower the next generation of female leaders, Zenith Bank Plc has announced the launch of its first ever Girl-Child Empowerment Programme.

The virtual event tagged Banking On Her Tomorrow will hold on Monday, October 12, 2026 by 11:00 a.m., coming just a day after the world marks International Day of the Girl Child on October 11.

The initiative is the vision of Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc. As the first woman to lead the bank as GMD and CEO, Dame Umeoji has been a consistent voice for girl child education and women empowerment.

Zenith Bank says the programme is created to help young girls dream bigger, build confidence and gain practical knowledge needed to succeed in school, career and life.

This year’s edition will bring together accomplished women and industry leaders from different sectors who will share real life experiences, career guidance, mentorship tips and leadership lessons.

Unlike a one off event, Banking On Her Tomorrow will be an annual platform that will continue to guide girls to discover their strengths, expand their ambitions and prepare for future opportunities in a changing world.

The new programme adds to Zenith Bank’s strong track record of supporting women and girls. Over the years, the bank has championed several impactful initiatives including its annual International Women’s Day Seminar, exclusive sponsorship of the Zenith Women’s Basketball League, the Women of Honour Awards in partnership with the Ford Foundation, and the Pad-a-Queen menstrual hygiene project.

The bank also runs the Z-Woman initiative, a dedicated financial product that provides funding, business training, mentorship and networking for women owned and women led businesses in Nigeria.

Zenith Bank noted that these programmes show its commitment to supporting women and girls from early stage to adulthood as part of its contribution to sustainable national development.

The event is open to everyone. Secondary school girls, university students, parents, teachers and guardians are encouraged to join.

Participation is free but registration is required. Interested persons can register through the Zoom events link below. For those who cannot join on Zoom, the programme will be streamed live on all Zenith Bank social media handles.
