LAGOS — Aquafina, the premium bottled water brand from Seven-Up Bottling Company, has announced support for the 5th Cycling Lagos scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

As part of the partnership, Aquafina will provide hydration for cyclists and participants at key points along the route. The brand will set up hydration points at the start and finish areas and along designated sections of the route, including the Coastal Road. Aquafina will also provide financial support for the event.

Omokehinde Thomas, Marketing Manager, Energy and Hydration at Seven-Up Bottling Company, confirmed the brand’s involvement. She said the support reinforces Aquafina’s commitment to healthy living, active lifestyles and community initiatives.

Other major brands have also confirmed support for the 2026 edition. They include Golden Penny Foods, Adron Homes, Checkers Custard, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and AIICO Multishield.

Bamidele Adeleye, President and CEO of Cycling Africa Limited, said the growing involvement of leading brands shows increased private sector recognition of cycling as a platform for wellness, sustainable transportation, environmental responsibility and brand engagement.

Seven-Up Bottling Company was part of the initiative when it started in 2018, and we are particularly grateful to have you back as a partner for the 5th edition, Adeleye said.

He also acknowledged Adron Homes, Golden Penny Foods and other partners for supporting the growth of the event.

Adeleye noted the success of the 5th Cycling Lagos Webinar held on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The webinar brought together experts to discuss waste management and expanding recycling capacity in Lagos and across Nigeria.

Organized by Cycling Africa Limited in collaboration with the Lagos State Cycling Association, the annual Cycling Lagos has reached its fifth edition. The event continues to promote cycling, healthy living, road safety, environmental sustainability and youth participation in sports.

Organizers said they are committed to providing a safe and inclusive experience for participants. Relevant stakeholders and support agencies will handle traffic management, security, medical support and overall coordination.

The theme for the 2026 edition is TRASH TO TREASURE: Unlocking Recycling Capacity for a Sustainable Future. According to organizers, the theme reflects the goal of using cycling to promote environmental consciousness and encourage Nigerians to see waste as a resource that can create economic opportunities.

Activities for the grand finale will include the Children’s Race, Celebrity Race and competitive cycling events. Cyclists will ride through designated routes across Lagos before returning to the National Stadium in Surulere.

The 5th Cycling Lagos is expected to attract cyclists, cycling clubs, sports enthusiasts, families and participants from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. The event aims to further strengthen cycling culture and highlight cycling as a healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable means of mobility.
