Abike Dabiri-Erewa Celebrates Mutiu Olawuyi on USA Media Ambassador Award and NYC Council Recognition
Abuja, September 14, 2026 – The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Mutiu Olawuyi on his recent recognition in the United States of America.
Olawuyi was honoured as Media Ambassador for African Immigrants in the USA by the African Immigrants’ Commission of New York and Connecticut. The award recognises his leadership, community service, integrity and contributions to the African immigrant community.
Dabiri-Erewa described the honour as well deserved. She said it reflects Olawuyi’s dedication to community development and his work in promoting the interests and achievements of Africans in the diaspora.
The NiDCOM Chairman also congratulated Olawuyi on receiving a City Council Citation presented in his honour by New York City Council Member, Amanda Farías. She noted that both recognitions are evidence of his positive impact in the community.
In her message, Dabiri-Erewa wished Olawuyi continued success. She encouraged him to keep up his efforts in promoting the interests of Nigerians and Africans living abroad.
