Anambra Solution Innovation District to Provide Training for Start-Up Businesses | Prestige News
Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved a start-up business incubation programme run by the Solution Innovation District (SID) to assist early-stage businesses in 2025.
The decision was reached at the 13th ANSEC meeting held at the new government house called the Light House, Awka, on Monday, June 30, 2025.
The State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, stated that this special business startup training supports Governor Soludo’s goal of promoting innovation-led growth and establishing Anambra as a centre for entrepreneurship and technology.
The programme, which will be offered in two batches of eight-week cohorts, will develop tech-enabled, scalable solutions in important fields like education, health, fintech, and agriculture.
Through a final Demo Day, participating individuals will receive investor access, business registration, technical and legal support, and mentorship. Over 30,000 people have received digital skills training from the Solution Innovation District thus far, making them employable within the country and globally.
The training programmes for innovation in Anambra under the governor’s tentacle include the ‘One-Youth-Two-Skill programme, Code Anambra, a training scheme for skills acquisition, and the ‘One Million Digital Tribe’ for digital training where graduates of the various schemes were rewarded with employment opportunities and with laptops to enhance their skills.
Consequently, ANSEC approved additional training and code of conduct for the state’s law enforcement agents, to enhance performance and for a livable homeland.
Mefor said this stems from Governor Soludo’s transformation of the vital sectors of the state, and that the code of conduct would help curb unethical practices, and that the training will enhance their effectiveness and teach them how they should operate.
