The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, has announced the 9th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit, NDIS, scheduled to hold in Abuja on November 10 and 11, 2026.

The Summit, with the theme, Bridging the Trust Gap: Connecting Diaspora Capital with Credible Home-based Opportunities, will be hybrid, giving Nigerians abroad and at home the chance to participate.

Announcing the programme of activities at the pre-event media briefing in Abuja on November 6, 2026, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, represented by the Acting Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Abdulrahman Terab, said transparency, credible institutions, investor protection and reliable information are vital to building diaspora investors confidence.

She noted that the Nigerian diaspora could contribute up to 100 billion dollars annually through strategic investments, if trust is built and credible opportunities are presented.

According to her, the two-day summit will hold on November 10 to 11, 2026, virtually on Zoom, with limited physical attendance at the Shehu Musa YarAdua Centre, Abuja.

Discussions will cover capital market opportunities, infrastructure, public-private partnerships and regulatory frameworks, all aimed at showing diaspora investors where their money can work safely and profitably in Nigeria.

The NiDCOM Boss added that the Summit will feature participation from key institutions, including the SEC, NGX, CBN, MOFI, NEXIM Bank, ICRC, NSIA, CAC and PEBEC.

She noted that interactive sessions will also provide participants with direct access to regulators, project sponsors and verified service providers, so investors can ask questions, verify projects and avoid scams.

Dabiri-Erewa thanked First Bank of Nigeria and other partners for their continued support, while inviting Nigerians in the diaspora, professionals, investors and entrepreneurs to participate.

Mr. Mobolaji Lewis, Chairman, Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative, NDSI, reaffirmed that this year summit will focus not just on capital generation but also on building a well-structured, transparent and credible investment system.

Lewis explained that the decision to adopt a virtual format was informed by the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

He further noted that the 2026 Summit will serve as a foundation for the landmark 10th anniversary edition in 2027.

He encouraged interested participants to register via http://www.ndisng.com or visit the website for further information.

The NDIS is a public-private sector initiative organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, in collaboration with the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative, NDSI.

For many Nigerians in diaspora who have wanted to invest back home but feared fraud, delays or lack of information, this summit is designed to bridge that trust gap and connect their capital with credible, verified opportunities.
