Wema Bank Announces Hackaholics 7.0 Grand Finale for November 6 With Festival of the Future

Wema Bank has announced November 6, 2026 as the date for the grand finale of Hackaholics 7.0, its flagship tech and innovation program.
The bank disclosed that this year’s finale will be held under the theme, Festival of the Future, a concept designed to celebrate innovation, technology and youth-driven ideas shaping tomorrow.
The grand finale is expected to bring together innovators, startup founders, technology leaders, investors and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem for an immersive experience.
According to the bank, the event will go beyond announcing winners to showcase new technologies, interactive exhibitions and conversations on how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are changing the way people live, work and build.
Speaking on the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank, Moruf Oseni, said the Festival of the Future was inspired by the need to prepare Nigerians to actively shape the future, not just anticipate it.
He noted that the world is evolving rapidly and technology is creating new opportunities, hence the need to create a platform that brings innovation closer to the people.
Oseni reaffirmed that Hackaholics has grown from just a competition into an ecosystem that discovers young talents, nurtures ideas and connects innovators with opportunities.
Hackaholics 7.0, which kicked off on July 1, 2026 under the theme Powering Possibilities, began with a nationwide pitch tour across seven locations including Uyo, Kano, Yabatech, Benin, Ibadan, Enugu and Lagos.
The tour recorded 5,329 participants and 1,632 innovative ideas across three tracks: Ideathon for early-stage ideas, Hackathon for developers and tech builders, and Social Impact for solutions with societal value.
From the tour, 59 participants emerged as finalists.
The finalists will be further shortlisted to 20 who will present refined solutions at the pre-pitch event scheduled for November 4, 2026.
On November 5, the participants will go on an ecosystem tour powered by Wema Bank to visit leading institutions in the tech space before the grand finale on November 6, where top innovators will be recognised and rewarded.
Through Hackaholics, Wema Bank, Nigeria’s oldest indigenous bank and pioneers of Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT, continues to show commitment to driving innovation, supporting entrepreneurship and empowering young Nigerians.
