The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress of failing to pay its party staff for over a year.

In a press statement signed by its spokesperson, Dele Alake, on October 26, 2026, the APC campaign council said it had come to its attention that the National Working Committee of the ADC led by Senator David Mark as Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as Secretary has refused to pay party workers for more than twelve months.

The council described the development as unconscionable, wicked and reprehensible, noting that a political party that makes promises to Nigerians should not owe workers who depend on their salaries for daily sustenance.

According to the statement, the situation exposes the emptiness and insincerity of those presenting themselves as new saviours. The APC council said ADC leaders and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, do not mean well for the country and that their quest for power is driven by personal interest.

The statement argued that a party that cannot pay its cleaners and workforce cannot be entrusted with the management of national affairs.

The APC campaign council further alleged that Atiku Abubakar has a history of owing employees, claiming that staff of his Gotel Communication and other businesses previously staged protests over unpaid salaries and benefits while he travels abroad.

The council also referenced the tenure of Rauf Aregbesola as governor of Osun State for eight years, describing his record on payment of workers salaries and pensioners as abysmal. It alleged that his administration introduced quarter and half salary payments due to financial mismanagement and abandoned pensioners for over four years.

The APC campaign team said it was not surprised that the ADC, which it described as harbouring persons of similar character, cannot pay its workers.

It therefore called on Nigerians and working people to reject the ADC, its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and all its candidates in the next general elections, adding that a party that cannot manage its internal affairs and welfare of its workforce should not be trusted with governance of the country.
