Obasanjo Shades Top Entertainers, Says Don Jazzy, Poco Lee And Carter Efe Are Not Important People I Know

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has stirred reactions after saying he does not know popular Nigerian entertainers Don Jazzy, Poco Lee and Carter Efe.

The former president made the statement during an appearance on comedian Isbae U’s podcast, Curiosity Made Me Ask, released on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

On the podcast, host Isbae U tested Obasanjo’s knowledge of current entertainment figures.

When asked, Do you know Carter Efe, Obasanjo simply said, I don’t know.

Asked again if he knows Poco Lee, he replied, No.

When Isbae U mentioned Don Jazzy, Obasanjo reacted with laughter, saying Ha.

The former president then joked that the entertainers Isbae U knows are not the kind of people he knows.

So, you know people that I don’t know, Obasanjo said.

Isbae U told him that even if he does not know them, they probably know him because he is a former president.

Responding jokingly, Obasanjo said, Ah, well, maybe because they no be important people, that’s why. That’s why the people you know, I don’t know.

Obasanjo went on to boast about the global figures he knows, mentioning the late Queen Elizabeth II whom he hosted in Nigeria, and King Charles III who hosted him at his farm in Wales.

Now I tell you, I know Queen Elizabeth. You say you don’t know Queen Elizabeth, he told Isbae U.

He then asked the comedian, Do you know King Charles?

Isbae U replied, I have heard of him.

I know him, Obasanjo said.

The exchange came after Isbae U bragged about having international viewers for his show, while Obasanjo teased him for having fans abroad without ever traveling to the UK or US.
