Olu of Oregun Oba Olukunmi Akingbola Honoured With Traditional Leadership Award at PEAL 2026

HRM Oba Dr Olukunmi Olusesan Akingbola, Ikudoro 1, the Olu of Oregun, has been honoured with the Excellence in Traditional Leadership Award at the 10th edition of the Prestige Excellence Award and Lecture, PEAL 2026.

The event held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Conference and Exhibition Center, Ikeja, Lagos.

PEAL is organised by Prestige Media Group, publishers of Prestige News.

In his opening remarks, the CEO of Prestige Media Group, Wale Abiodun, said the Prestige Excellence Award and Lecture was created to recognise and appreciate individuals, corporate organisations and institutions that have made remarkable impact in Nigeria.

He said the platform celebrates hard work, ingenuity, integrity and uncommon achievement in service delivery, noting that the 2026 edition was designed to honour those who exemplified those virtues in the year under review.

Theme for the 2026 edition was Power to Prosperity: How Political Decisions Shape Economic Opportunities and New Ventures.

Dr D K Olukoya, General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, received Best and Most Philanthropic Clergyman of the Year.

Zenith Bank Plc emerged Best Commercial Bank of the Year, while Access Bank Plc won Most Innovative Bank of the Year and First Bank Plc won Most Valuable Bank of the Year.

Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar, MD and CEO, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, received Award for Excellence in Airspace Management and Aviation Safety Leadership.

Captain Chris Ona Najomo, Director-General of Civil Aviation and CEO of NCAA, received Award for Excellence in Aviation Regulation Through Safety, Innovation and Strategic Leadership.

Mrs Olubunmi Oluseun Kuku, MD and CEO, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, won Award for Transformational Leadership in Airport Management.

Aare Sooko Oladotun Hassan Esq, Sooko Agoriesin of Ile-Ife and President, Yoruba Council Worldwide, won Most Outstanding Public Affairs Analyst of the Year.

Johannes Oluwatobi Wojuola Esq, Special Adviser on Communication and Media to EVC and CEO of NCC, won Media Relations Manager of the Year.

Bishop Olufemi Otusanya Omomajemu, General Overseer, The True Covenant Church of God, and Senior Prophet J I Surrey, Shepherd-in-Charge, Celestial Church of Christ, Asore Central Parish 1, Akute, both won Outstanding Man of God of the Year.

Mr Babajide Kolade-Otitoju won Best and Most Resourceful Public Affairs Analyst of the Year.

Master Gland International Limited won Vibrant and Innovative Real Estate Company of the Year.

Future Resilience And Development, FRAD Foundation, won Most Outstanding Humanitarian NGO of the Year.

Mr Ayobayo Babade won Most Resourceful and Innovative Real Estate Consultant of the Year.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi, won Most Philanthropic Political Personality of the Year.

Hon Opeyemi Apatira, Leader of the House, Ojodu LCDA Legislative Council, won Most Outstanding Grassroots Legislator of the Year.

Hon Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement South West, won Best Performing Community Engager of the Year.

Hon Prince Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, ARK, Deputy Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, won Most Exemplary State Legislator of the Year.

Primate Elijah Ayodele, Founder, INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, won Most Philanthropic Man of God of the Year.

Elhadj Otunba Abu-Satar Hamed, Publisher, Star Trend International Magazine, won Outstanding and Resourceful Media Personality of the Year.

ABBASID Charity Foundation won Hunger Relief Organisation of the Year.

Comrade Dayo Aguda, Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, won Exemplary Union President Award.
