Tension as cult groups clash in Anambra …One person beheaded, another killed

There is tension in Okija, Ihiala local government area of Anambra State, following the killing of two persons in a suspected clash of two rival cult groups in the area.
One of the victims was beheaded with the assailants taking his head away and leaving his body in the compound.

The incident took place in a compound owned by the former traditional ruler of Umuzu Community in Ogbaru, Igwe Boniface Ubakanonu , the other, according to sources, was killed elsewhere in the same community.
One of the trending videos on social media showed equally that one of the victim’s feet was cut off from the ankles even as he was inflicted with machete cuts on his body.

Former president-general of the community, Chukwudum Ndedigwe, told reporters that Umuzu community was a village in Okija before they migrated to their present location in Ogbaru LGA.
He said that some of their people still live in Umuzu village in Okija where the incident happened.
He confirmed that the compound where the incident happened belonged to their late monarch, Igwe Ubakanonu.
He said, “Ohalegbu, Umuogu and Umuzu villages where the killing of the young man took place are the descendants of Ikeasomba, our great grandfather.”
When contacted the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident.
