Canada Commends NiDCOM Over Successful Diaspora Conference in Canada, Pledges Stronger Nigeria-Canada Ties

Canada’s Deputy High Commissioner Carlos Rojas-Arbulú has commended NiDCOM and Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for the successful NiDEC diaspora conference in Canada that boosted Nigeria-Canada cooperation.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, is receiving international praise after hosting what has been described as a “highly impactful” diaspora conference in Canada.

Canada’s Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Carlos Rojas-Arbulú  gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the NiDCOM Chairman/CEO, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, at the Commission’s office in Lagos.

What Happened at the NiDEC Canada Conference

The 3-day NiDEC conference was held across three cities in Canada. It brought together top government officials from both Nigeria and Canada, diaspora professionals, investors, and other key stakeholders.

The goal: to explore new avenues for cooperation, investment, and national development between Nigeria and Canada.

Rojas-Arbulú described the event as a positive step toward deepening bilateral relations. He noted that the conference created a strong platform for greater engagement between both countries.

He specifically praised NiDCOM and the 15-member NiDEC Planning Committee for the excellent organization and the positive outcomes recorded.

In her response, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa expressed delight at Canada’s feedback.
