Woke Up And Saw My Name On The List – Toyin Abraham Rejects APC Campaign Council Appointment

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has explained why she rejected her inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council.

The actress said she was listed without her knowledge and has no interest in politics.

Toyin Abraham made this known in a post on X on Friday, September 18, 2026, while responding to a user who suggested her decision could stop online bullying.

The user, Foundational Nupe Lawyer, had written, I hope this stops the bullies from bullying her, but I know for sure, they will never stop.

Reacting, Toyin Abraham said her decision was not because of online critics.

She wrote, Bro, I didn’t do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about. Moreover, I’ve already said it, I’m not interested in politics.

The actress had earlier on Friday distanced herself from the Lagos APC campaign council after her name appeared among members of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.

She said, I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.

Toyin Abraham was listed alongside other entertainers including Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun and Bukky Wright.

The development comes three years after the actress publicly supported President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, a decision that attracted criticism and attacks on social media.

The Lagos APC campaign council has Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, with Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director.

Despite her rejection, Toyin Abraham remains listed as a member of the 33-person directorate in the published council document.
