The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has rolled out an additional dedicated toll-free number, 08000LAWMA, to streamline communication and improve residents’ accessibility to the organisation’s waste management services.
Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin said the launch of the new toll-free number was meant to expand available communication channels with the public, for enhanced operational activities, towards a more efficient and comprehensive waste disposal solutions for Lagosians.
He said, “At LAWMA, we recognise the critical role that communication plays in effective waste management. By introducing this additional toll-free number, we are removing barriers and making it easier for residents to report issues, request services, and stay informed about LAWMA’s activities.”
Gbadegesin stated that the 080000LAWMA line would connect callers directly with dedicated representatives, trained to address a range of waste-related concerns, adding that residents could report illegal dumping, request waste collection, inquire about PSP operations, and access information on LAWMA’s various services.
He noted that, beyond enhanced communication, LAWMA was also doubling down on its core operational services, which included strengthened PSP partnerships, enhanced marine waste services, prioritising healthcare waste, tackling market waste, among others, to optimise waste management across the state.
